Two more foster home staff held over alleged abuse

Two more workers at a foster home in Prince Edward were arrested on Tuesday over allegations of abuse, the police said.

The two female employees, aged 25 and 29, were being detained on suspicion of ill-treatment or neglect of children.

Officers have so far arrested 20 people from the Children’s Residential Home in connection with the case. Most of them have been charged.

The force added that the number of alleged victims has risen to 35.

The home is run by the Society for the Protection of Children and takes care of children who are orphans, abandoned by their parents, referred by the courts or come from problematic families.
