Turnout at 21 percent after eight hours of Legco poll

According to the election website, 940,327 ballots had been cast for geographical seats in the Legislative Council elections by 4.30pm.

That’s a turnout rate of 21.02 percent.

At the same time on election day in 2016, more than 1.17 million had voted, or 31.16 percent of the electorate. Polls opened an hour earlier that year.

Voting in the 2021 Legco elections is due to end at 10.30pm.
