Three residential buildings locked down

The government locked down residential blocks in North Point, Causeway Bay and Tung Chung on Saturday evening.

The testing notices for Block B of Flora Garden at Cloud View Road and Tower 1 of Jupiter Terrace at Jupiter Street, and Shun Yat House in Yat Tung Two Estate began at 7pm, and officials said they aim to finish the operations in about 12 hours.

Health authorities explained that there were three preliminary positive cases, involving people who live in the buildings.

They tested positive for a mutant strain of Covid-19 that could involve the Omicron variant.

Health authorities said they were investigating more than 30 preliminary positive cases on Saturday.
