Wong Hung-hin, 30 and Nicholas Shum, 25, owners of the “Jie Genge” restaurant on Portland Street, had denied the charge.
Prosecutors said that during an inspection on December 4 last year, officers found items including extendable batons, shields, gas masks, cable ties, reflective vests, press cards and posters with political slogans on them, in a fire services pump room on a rooftop connected to the restaurant.
Before the opening of their trial at West Kowloon Court, the prosecution agreed to offer no evidence against the pair.
Wong and Shum were handed a HK$2,000 bind-over order, which requires them to maintain good behaviour for 12 months.
