Policemen charged with misconduct in public office

The ICAC on Thursday charged four policemen with misconduct in public office for allegedly making up records about a house search as part of a drug trafficking probe in 2018.

The accused, aged between 31 and 45, have been released on ICAC bail and are due to appear in Tuen Mun Court on April 20.

The anti-graft body said the alleged offences took place in March 2018, when the four were posted to a special duties squad in Tuen Mun.

The officers arrested a man for drug trafficking and are accused of fabricating records about a purported search of the suspect’s home.

The ICAC said the police force has offered it full assistance with the investigation.
