Overnight lockdowns find hundreds of infections

Health authorities on Monday said hundreds of people have tested preliminary positive for Covid-19 in overnight lockdowns at three public housing estates, in Sha Tin, Kwun Tong and Yuen Long.

Some 2,300 people from Man Wo House and Yan Wo House at Wo Che Estate in Sha Tin were tested and 237 received preliminary positive results.

In Sau Fu House of Sau Mau Ping Estate in Kwun Tong around 17 percent of the 1,050 residents were found to have come down with the disease.

About 10 percent of the 1,200 residents at Heng Chui House of Tin Heng Estate in Yuen Long have contracted the virus.

Authorities said about four dozen test results were indeterminate.

Residents with negative test results have since been allowed to leave their homes again.
