Over two dozen cases found after Sha Tin lockdowns

The government has lifted lockdowns on two blocks of flats in a Sha Tin estate after finding 28 preliminary positive Covid cases.

The authorities said more than 8,000 people at Mei Chi House and Mei King House had undergone two rounds of testing.

The lockdown for Mei Chi House ended at 9am on Tuesday after authorities found 15 preliminary positive cases, while the lockdown for Mei King House was lifted at 9:45am after 13 preliminary positive cases were identified.

Mei Chi House and Mei King House were among three blocks at Mei Tin Estate issued with a compulsory testing notice on Sunday evening.

The lockdown for the third block, Mei Sau House, ended on Monday morning.
