Observatory cancels all typhoon signals

The Observatory on Thursday cancelled all typhoon signals as tropical cyclone Kompasu passed over Hainan island and headed towards the coast of Vietnam.

All signals came down at 6.20 am. The number 1 signal had replaced the number 3 two hours earlier.

The number 8 signal had been issued late on Tuesday afternoon and remained in place for just under 24 hours.
