Minister works from home after driver tested positive

Environment Secretary Wong Kam-sing is to work from home after his driver tested preliminary positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.

The driver was last on duty on Saturday, and he was positive on a rapid test. He will give a deep throat saliva test to health officials as soon as possible.

Wong’s own rapid test was negative, but he will return a deep throat saliva test as quickly as he can.

“For prudence’s sake, Mr Wong will work from home until the test result released,” the government said in a statement.

It said the minister will attend a meeting through video link on Sunday afternoon, to tell mainland experts in town about the Covid sewage surveillance plan in Hong Kong.

The experts are in town to help the SAR fight the pandemic.
