Man dies after truck overturns near Lantau Link Plaza

A man has died in a traffic accident on the North Lantau Highway.

The 64-year-old had been driving a light goods vehicle towards Tung Chung at about 7.30 pm on Friday, when he reportedly hit a special purpose vehicle near the Lantau Link Plaza and overturned.

Unconscious, and with serious leg injuries, he was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was certified dead about 90 minutes later.

Police are appealing for withenesses.
