Man arrested after trying to grab police gun

A suspected mentally-disordered man has been detained after allegedly trying to grab a police officer’s gun in Sham Shui Po on Saturday afternoon.

Police had received a call that a man was pushing over bins in the area.

Officers went to the scene and found the man in a supermarket.

When confronted, the 33-year-old tried to grab the officer’s gun but was subdued.

The man was later sent to Princess Margaret Hospital with an injury to his chin.
