Maintenance planned for FPS after outage

Officials warned on Friday that system maintenance means the Faster Payment System (FPS) for cross-bank and e-wallet transfers will be offline from between 1am and 11am on November 14.

The Monetary Authority said tests will be carried out during that time in connection with problems that triggered a service outage earlier this month.

FPS services were down for several hours on October 17 due to problems encountered during a system relocation and upgrade.

The Faster Payment System, launched in 2018, allows people to make transfers using a recipient’s phone number or email address.
