The visit was organised by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the National Health Commission.
The group attended a briefing on Hong Kong’s pandemic measures late on Saturday.
In a statement, the Chief Secretary, John Lee, said the mainland experts’ visit was an important follow-up work to talks held in September 26 and earlier this month.
Lee said the government wanted to restore cross-border travel as quickly as possible, but gave no further details.
However, he said he hoped that the visit would give the panel a deeper understanding of the SAR’s anti-epidemic work strategies, policies and measures.
Lee said the government would continue its goal of zero Covid.
