The government on Monday awarded the gold Medal for Bravery to the late police chief inspector Lam Yuen-yee.
In a statement, it said that the Chief Executive had awarded the medal posthumously to recognise the gallantry and selflessness shown by chief inspector Lam, who died at sea during an anti-smuggling operation in September.
The award will be presented at a ceremony to be held this month.
Earlier this month Lam’s funeral service, with full honours, was attended by the city’s top officials, including the Chief Executive, Carrie Lam.
