Kwun Tong Line train services getting back to normal

The MTR Corporation said on Friday services are getting back to normal after there were delays on the Kwun Tong Line during the morning rush hour because of a faulty overhead cable near Yau Ma Tei station.

The rail company said the faulty overhead cable near Yau Ma Tei station has been temporarily fixed.

During the disruption, services between Whampoa and Yau Ma Tei were running at 10-minute intervals.

It said the journey between Whampoa and Tiu Keng Leng stations had required an extra five to eight minutes, and passengers going to Whampoa and Ho Man Tin had had to transit at Yau Ma Tei.

Kwun Tong Line passengers going to Central, the MTRC said, had not needed to transit during the service disruption.

The rail company said trains between Prince Edward and Tiu Keng Leng stations and Tiu Keng Leng and Central had been running at four-minute intervals.

The MTRC had also said commuters could consider using the Tuen Ma Line instead.
