Representatives of the Hong Kong Alliance In Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China were set to meet with the police on Thursday afternoon to discuss holding a march on the last Sunday of this month.
There willl be another meeting on Tuesday to discuss whether they can hold a candlelight vigil on June 4, despite the government saying it doesn’t want the event in Victoria Park because of pandemic restrictions.
The Alliance’s vice-chairwoman, Chow Hang-tung, said she was not hopeful of being granted permission.
But she added that they would be willing to comply with all reasonable measures to protect people against Covid-19 such as social distancing and mask-wearing.
