IT Undersecretary tests positive for Covid-19

The Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, David Chung, has tested preliminary positive for Covid-19.

In a statement, the Innovation and Technology Bureau said Chung took a PCR test after his driver caught the virus.

It added that although the IT Secretary, Alfred Sit, has so far tested negative for Covid-19, he will work from home until Saturday as a precautionary measure.

The bureau said it will disinfect its offices and arrange for relevant staff members to get tested.

“The ITB will continue to implement disease prevention measures vigorously, and has reminded all staff members to pay attention to personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times. They should seek medical advice if they feel unwell,” it said.

Chung is the most senior official so far to have tested positive for the virus.
