Hong Kong reports two more imported Covid cases

Health authorities on Sunday reported two new Covid infections, both imported.

One of them, a 30-year-old man, arrived in Hong Kong on August 6 from the United States.

He was vaccinated in the US in April with the BioNTech jab, and was found to carry the L452R mutated strain.

The second imported case involves a 22-year-old woman who flew in from Japan. She has been under quarantine at the Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View hotel in Sai Ying Pun, and has not developed any symptoms.

In total, the city has recorded 12,013 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
