Hong Kong reports eight imported Covid-19 cases

Health officials on Sunday reported eight Covid-19 infections, all imported.

The patients, aged between 13 and 64, flew in from the Czech Republic, Maldives, Spain, the Philippines and the United States.

All but one, a 13-year-old boy, have either received two doses of BioNTech or Sinovac vaccines.

Most of the patients are asymptomatic, except a 46-year-old woman, who developed symptoms during her quarantine at a hotel in Sai Ying Pun.

The Centre for Health Protection also noted that a 19-year-old Hong Kong resident had recently tested positive for the virus in the UK, three days after she flew there from the SAR.

People who have stayed at Suet Fung House in Diamond Hill, where the woman lived before she left, are ordered to get tested for Covid-19.
