The Centre for Health Protection on Monday reported 16 new coronavirus infections in the territory.

Thirteen of them were locally acquired, four via an unknown source. These included a 66-year-old post-natal care helper, two retirees, and a 41-year-old computer officer.

All four went to get tested after developing symptoms such as a runny nose, shortness of breath and a sore throat.

The three imported cases involved women aged 21 to 45 who arrived in Hong Kong from Indonesia.

The Covid-19 tally in the SAR now stands at 10,884.
