Hong Kong Garrison out in force for joint drills

The People’s Liberation Army’s land, sea and air forces in Hong Kong carried out joint drills on Sunday, to test the garrison’s defence capabilities.

In a video published by the PLA, the garrison said its ground forces had patrolled Stonecutters Bridge, as the air force’s helicopters hovered above it.

In a naval drill, two special teams chased and intercepted vessels, with the help of the air force.

Meanwhile, the air force also carried out a mock rescue operation in which it put out hill fires and helped get injured people to hospital.

The Hong Kong Garrison stressed that it had strictly complied with aviation and port regulations throughout the drills, adding that it had also informed the relevant departments of the SAR government beforehand.
