HK reports 6 new imported Covid cases

Health officials on Saturday reported six new Covid-19 infections, all of them imported.

Three of the patients had received both doses of the BioNTech vaccine and displayed no symptoms. They were a 53-year-old man who flew in from the United States, a man aged 35 who came from the United Arab Emirates and a 38-year-old woman arriving from the Phillipines.

A 19 year-old man who arrived from Belgium had received a shot of the Janssen vaccine. He showed no symptoms.

Two other patients, who have not been vaccinated, were an 18 year-old man who came from Myanmar and a five-months old girl who arrived from Azerbaijan. The man tested positive during his quarantine at Dorsett Mongkok, while the infant developed symptoms on August 24, during her stay at Regal Airport Hotel.

The Centre for Health Protection recommends that people get fully vaccinated before any unavoidable travel. It also urged parents not to travel with children have not been vaccinated.

Separately, the authorities have asked people who stayed in Block 1 of Bo Shek Mansion in Tsuen Wan to get tested, in relation to a recent infection.
