HK records one imported Covid case

Health officials on Thursday reported one imported Covid infection.

The 37-year-old woman, who flew in from Indonesia on May 30, was undergoing quarantine at Silka Far East Hotel in Tsuen Wan when she tested positive for the virus.

The Centre for Health Protection says she is asymptomatic and has a low viral load, which makes it impossible to tell whether she’s been infected with a mutated strain of the coronavirus.

There are also a handful of preliminary positive cases.

Hong Kong has now gone 41 days without an untraceable local case, with the city’s overall Covid tally standing at 11,849.
