HK records four new imported Covid infections

Health authorities reported four new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, all of which were imported infections.

Three of the new patients received coronavirus vaccines in Hong Kong several months ago.

One of them, a 54-year-old man who arrived from France on Sunday, also tested positive for antibodies on July 2. He carried the L452R mutated strain, but didn’t have any symptoms.

The other two vaccinated patients, who flew in from Thailand and the United States, were also asymptomatic.

The day’s other new patient was a 31-year-old flight attendant who arrived from Germany on Sunday and who also carried the L452R mutated strain.

There were fewer than five preliminary positive cases.

All but one infection reported in Hong Kong over the past fortnight were imported cases.

The SAR has recorded 12,019 infections so far.
