Five blocks across the city locked down for mass test

The government on Friday cordoned off five residential buildings in Tsueng Kwan O, Kowloon City and Sha Tin after sewage samples from the blocks tested positive for Covid-19.

A government spokesman said authorities suspect some of the residents of tower one and two of Twin Peaks, Tak Shan House and Tak Kei House at Tak Long Estate and Luk Chuen House at Lek Yuen Estate are infected but don’t have symptoms.

“Given the risk of infection in the relevant area is assessed to be likely higher, the government decided to make a ‘restriction-testing declaration’ for the relevant area,” the spokesman said.

Authorities said they expect the mass testing operations to end at around 1pm on Saturday.
