Firefighters battle No. 3 alarm blaze in Tsuen Wan

The Fire Services Department said on Thursday that firefighters are battling a blaze at a construction site at Hoi Kok Street in Tsuen Wan.

The fire broke out at 6.38am and was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm just before 7am.

It said there was heavy smoke but air quality data didn’t show any abnormalities.

The department warned that the smoke might reach members of the public in Tsuen Wan, Tsing Yi and Kwai Chung and advised people to close their doors and windows, and remain calm.

It said firefighters are using four jets and have deployed three breathing apparatus teams.

It said two people were injured and were taken to Yan Chai Hospital.
