Authorities on Thursday said a fire near Kwai Chung Container Terminal 7 was put out shortly after it started.
Police said they received a report at around 10:20am that some foam boxes on Container Port Road South were on fire.
Plumes of black smoke billowed into the air.
A spokesman from the force said the fire was put out around 15 minutes later.
No injuries were reported.
