Covid tests increased for mainland and Macau arrivals

The government says from Thursday Hong Kong people returning to Hong Kong from the mainland or Macau will now have to undergo more testing.

The move follows an increase in Covid cases in Guangdong province.

In a statement, the Food and Health Department said people arriving under the Return2HK Scheme, and those who are vaccinated will have to do three Covid tests instead of two.

Non-vaccinated people will have to do five tests, up from two.

The government also adjusted measures for people who have already arrived from Taiwan and Singapore.
