Chris Tang to stay home after wife tests positive

The Secretary for Security, Chris Tang, will be under home quarantine for two weeks after his wife and domestic helper came down with Covid-19.

Tang himself tested negative in a rapid test and a deep throat saliva test on Wednesday.

“In accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Health, [the patients] are now at home pending admission to hospitals or isolation facilities,” the Security Bureau said in a statement, adding that Tang, who’s considered a close contact, will work from home while he’s being quarantined.

The bureau also said it will conduct thorough cleansing and disinfection of the relevant offices, and arrange tests for relevant staff members.

The bureau added it has reminded all staff members to pay attention to personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times, and they should seek medical advice if they feel unwell.
