CE, liaison office head meet injured police officers

Beijing’s Liaison Office chief Luo Huining and Chief Executive Carrie Lam have visited policemen who were injured while on duty during the anti-government protests.

This came after Luo sat next to the Hong Kong leader when she made her virtual duty report to state leaders last week.

The government said on Sunday that they went to the police headquarters in Wan Chai and the Tsim Sha Tsui police station to meet with more than a hundred officers.

Lam said she is glad the force have used different ways to rebuild public confidence in recent months, saying their reputation had been seriously tarnished during the unrest.

Besides Luo, the Liaison Office’s deputy director, Yang Jianping, and the head of its police liaison unit, Chen Feng, also made the visits.
