Cathay’s Frankfurt aircrew to be quarantined

Cathay Pacific on Sunday said their aircrew who stayed in Frankfurt, Germany, since November 1, will be quarantined for 21 days in a government facility.

The airline operator said it is following the health authorities’ “prescribed procedures”.

“We will fully comply with the health authorities’ requirement that any aircrew who had stayed in Frankfurt since November 1 need to be quarantined for 21 days in a government facility,” it said in a statement.

It comes after three of their cargo aircrew members tested positive for Covid-19 from flights coming in from the German city.

The airline said they immediately arranged another hotel for their aircrew in Frankfurt to stay in and will suspend layovers at the city for their cargo aircrew “as soon as practicable”.

Cathay pointed out that all their operating aircrew have been fully-vaccinated and that they will also arrange for them to undergo daily Covid testing.
